General information

Originated in Europe, Sweet Violet has been used by ancient Greek folks for treating various medical conditions. The flowers are fragrant and has been used for various culinary purposes. Ayurveda also mentions this herb for its medicinal benefits. Essential oil extracted from this herb is used as a Rasayana in Aromatherapy and is helpful in easing stress and anxiety. It is a natural expectorant and is beneficial in treating cough and chest infections. It is helpful for people suffering with excessive Kapha Dosha. It is a gentle laxative and can be useful in digestive system related diseases, heat and inflammation. It is diuretic in nature and increases the immune power of the body.
