General information

Palash or Bengal Kino is a deciduous tree whose flowers, seeds, bark and gum are used for medicinal purpose. It possesses some important astringent qualities, and is considered valuable by the druggists. Its flowers are used to prepare natural color which is used to celebrate Indian Festival Holi and the tree is worshipped as God of Fire.
