Rhu Khus Attar has been commonly referred to as the “Oil of Tranquility” in Ayurveda due to its soothing aroma and cooling properties that are said to aid meditation. The scent of Rhu Khus Attar is best described as natural and woodsy, and is balanced with quiet and sweet hints of mint. This Attar is extremely rich and concentrated, meaning the fragrance will last hours with a single drop. A “Ruh” is different than a standard attar in that it is not combined with sandalwood oil. Ruh’s are pure essential oils that require a large amount of labor and raw materials making it an extremely precious and costly fragrance. The “Khus” property of this attar comes from a very beloved and fragrant wild grass called “Vetiver” or “Khus.” Vetiver has many unique properties and have been used for centuries to cool, refrigerate, and create “healthy air.” Aromatically, the vetiver root or oil is very potent and is comprised of over 150 aromatic molecules. These fragrances combine in a harmonious way to create a deep and sustaining perfume blend that delivers a truly earthy and green scent.
