Hot ginger tea

 

  • 1 quart water
  • 2 inches fresh ginger root
  • Honey
  • Lemon

Boil water in a saucepan or tea pot.

Peel and mash ginger and add to the boiling water.

Reduce heat and simmer for 30 — 45 minutes, depending on how pungent you want the tea to be.

Strain and add honey for VATA and KAPHA and lemon juice for VATA if desired.

Makes 3—4 cups .

 

Note: This tea is useful for colds, sore, throats, bronchitis and impaired circulation and digestion. It is warming and comforting in cool weather.
